Sun | Sun Fire V20z Server

Introduced in the spring of 2004, the V20z server offers high CPU density in a 1RU form factor. Based on dual-core or single-core AMD Opteron processors, the Sun Fire V20z server outperformed most servers in its class at the time of its introduction, and cost less than the competition too. It runs both 32-bit and 64-bit applications simultaneously, as well as multiple operating systems.

With up to 16 gigabytes of memory in a rack-optimized one-rack-unit (1RU) form factor, the V20z was a powerful, well priced addition to the Sun family of X86 based servers.

The Sun Fire V20z was EOL'd (end-of-lifed) in November of 2007, and was replaced by the Sun Fire X2100.
