Sun | Sun Fire V445 Server
Introduced in October 2006 as the direct replacement for the Sun Fire V440 server, the Sun Fire V445 improves on the previous machine by offering twice as much memory as the original Sun Fire V440's 16 GB RAM (later the V440 was available with 32 GB RAM too), twice as many disks (up to 8 of the 2.5 inch SAS disk drives), 33% more PCI slots, double the number of Gigabit Ethernet ports, and twice as many power supplies, all in the same size server (4 rack units).
The Sun Fire V445 was EOL'd (end-of-lifed) in April of 2008, with no direct replacement machine named by Sun.
