Sun Fire V890 Server System Overview Introduced to the Sun community in September of 2004, the Sun Fire V890 server is the direct successor to the V880. Outfitted with either the UltraSPARC IV or the UltraSPARC IV+, performance is up to 5X faster (UltraSPARC IV+). It is ideal for remote offices and departments, and as a complementary system in data centers, and excels in running database, e-commerce, and enterprise resource planning applications. The Sun Fire V890 is available with processor speeds from 1.2 GHz through 2.1 GHz, and is scalable to eight processors, 16 threads and 64GB of memory, giving you headroom to spare.
