Sun | Ultra 24 Workstation

Introduced in October of 2007, the Sun Ultra 24 was Sun’s third generation of an x86/x64 based workstation, and was the first version to use an Intel processor. That Intel CPU Sun used was the Core2, in both ‘duo’ and ‘quad’ versions, with 15 different combinations of core and speed being used during the products lifetime.

The Ultra 24 can be configured with up to 8GB RAM using 2GB DIMMs, and one to four 3.5” 146 GB, 300 GB, or 450 GB 15K SAS, or 250 GB, 750 GB, or 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA disk drives.

The Ultra 24 workstations was EOL’d (end-of-lifed) in October of 2009, and replaced by the Ultra 27 workstation.
