
Sun | Ultra 20 / Ultra 20 M2 Workstation
Introduced in August of 2005, the Sun Ultra 20 was Sun’s second generation of an x86/x64 based workstation, and was the direct replacement for the Sun Java Workstation W1100z. The Ultra 20 came in three successive versions, The Ultra 20, the Ultra 20 RoHS, and the Ultra 20 M2.
The single processor Sun Ultra 20 featured Opteron 100 series single core CPU or dual core CPUs or dual core Opteron 1200 CPUs (M2), up to 8GB RAM using 2GB DIMMs, and one or two 3.5” 80GB, 250 GB, 500GB, or 750GB SATA disk drives.
The Ultra 20 and Ultra 20 RoHS workstations were EOL’d (end-of-lifed) in April of 2007 and the Sun Ultra 20 M2 was EOL'd in December of 2008.
